A very warm welcome to the members only area of the official UK Affiliate Gold site. This area of the site exists to keep all UKAG members informed about what’s happening in the world of affiliate marketing.
In this area of the site we:
share information about projects (campaigns) we’re running with
give you cold hard assessments about existing and new affiliate program opportunities.
We are driven by a desire to give you value for money. This means we will share with you what we know and discover from our own efforts. This means you will know if a particular strategy is working for us in virtually real time, not after the wave has passed. This means we’ll tell you if we think we’ve found a really hot program to join, and for that matter, if we think we can see a really bad one that’s being promoted.
Significantly, we tell you from our first hand experience of trying something. We never suggest you try something if we haven’t tried it ourselves. We also never rubbish something unless we or someone we know and respect has tried something and it hasn’t worked. Why is this significant? It’s simple. There are many forums and “experts” that will offer their view on potential opportunities but they do so without having any first hand experience. We know because we’ve either been taken in by them and in some cases discouraged from doing something that we subsequently discovered was actually worth doing. So in a nutshell, we will be giving you our first hand experience. It is always your choice what you then choose to do.
You may find that the resources section of this area will contain a lot of what you already have on the CD-ROM but we do keep adding to the section and so over time you will more than likely use the site as your source rather than the CD. The level of duplication will be determined by when you purchased UK Affiliate Gold. The other two sections of this area are not on the CD and so they represent the added value of membership.
The remainder of this page is devoted to keeping you informed about the developments made to this area in the last 60 days.

Can-Spam
|
From the 1st January new federal laws have been effective in the US that are designed to combat spam. Sadly they won’t impact the blatant spammers but they will catch legitimate businesses out so you should know how they should be approached. They do apply to non-US residents. Click here to read a useful article.

Combating SPAM!
The new CAN-SPAM laws in the US and the legislation that exists in Europe is founded on the belief that laws can halt the explosion in unsolicited e-mail of a pornographic or commercial nature. This is doubtful and in the main the respective governments have passed laws to demonstrate they take the issue seriously and that they are taking action. This is understandable but until methods are developed for catching spammers in the act then we will still suffer spam because they will continue to be one step ahead of the authorities.
So can we do anything? Yes! There are a growing number of anti-spam solutions being marketed on the net. Some are software based and they are installed on your computer and work with your existing mail software. Another solution that is winning friends at the moment is SpamArrest. This is a service and what it does is it screens you from your incoming mail. Whenever anyone sends a mail SpamArrest will first check to see if you have previously accepted mail from the source before or that the source has verified they are legitimate. Spammers are stopped because their outgoing mail is automated and as soon as SpamArrest asks for verification it’s ignored because the automated mailer cannot handle replies. Simple but very effective. You can trial SpamArrest for thirty days for free and get a feel for how it works.
